Weber 40020 Review
Weber 40020 is currently priced at $49.99 and it holds a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5 from 437 customer reviews on Amazon. It’s ranked #18 in Amazon’s Best-Selling Charcoal Grills.
This model weighs 9.8 pounds and has a product dimension of 15.4 x 15.6 x 9.2 inches. It has a diameter of 14 centimeters and a cooking area of 147 square inches that can hold up to five hamburgers in one go.
Overall, this model is very similar to the 10020 model with few key differences. Like the 10020 model, the 40020 model also comes with a plated steel cooking grate, heavy-gauge steel charcoal grate, porcelain-enameled bowl and lid, as well as one glass-reinforced nylon handle.
The porcelain-enameled bowl and lid retain heat, it won’t rust and peel. The glass-reinforced nylon handle is designed to protect your hands from the heat.
Now, let’s talk about the differences between this model and the 10020 model. Weber 40020 comes with three rust-resistant aluminum dampers to Weber 10020’s two. The three dampers make it easier for you to control the temperature inside the grill.
Weber 40020 also comes with a Tuck-n-Carry lid lock that the 10020 model doesn’t have. However, it doesn’t come with an aluminum ash catcher that’s available on the 10020 model. The Tuck-n-Carry lid lock doubles as a lid holder to avoid placing the lid on the ground.
Similar to the 10020 model, Weber 40020 is also compact and light, making it easy to be carried around, loaded up on your car, and set up on the beach, garden, or park. This grill is ideal for cooking steaks, chops, vegetables, chickens, and small roasts.
Throw some charcoal in and toss the meat on the plated steel cooking grate for the perfectly cooked and great tasting grilled food. Overall, the Weber 40020 model is one of the best outdoor grills that’s available under $60.
Weber 10020 vs Weber 40020 Smokey Joe Grill
The Weber 40020 is the newer model out of the two. It means that the 10020 model is the more tested model out of the two because it has been around longer. The data shows that Weber 10020 holds a higher rating and more reviews than Weber 40020. Weber 10020 is also ranked #2 in Amazon’s Best-Selling Charcoal Grills to the Weber 40020’s #18.
For that reason, we have to go with the Weber 10020 model for this one. Sure, it costs higher than the 40020 model and it doesn’t come with a Tuck-n-Carry lid lock like the 40020 model does. However, the positive reviews, high rating, and its consistency at staying on top are more than enough to convince us that Weber 10020 is worth the price.
Moreover, the aluminum ash catcher will be a huge bonus that comes with the Weber 10020 model. But, like always, we can’t force our opinion on you. Everyone has their own opinions, preferences, and needs.
If you don’t mind getting a little messy without the ash catcher and prefer to have a Tuck-n-Carry lid lock, or if budget is a big concern for you, then it’s okay to buy the Weber 40020 model. After all, these two outdoor grills come from the same manufacturer, Weber. So, it’s logical to assume that the quality between the two is very similar to each other.
